ArtSouth at Homestead
This three acre complex ha more then forty art studios,
art galleries, art workshops, a stage for live
performances, and the historic First Baptist Church
of Homestead. Located at 240 North Krome Avenue in

Everglades National Park
This UNESCO World Heritage Site includes more then 2000 acres
of wetlands, cypress swamps, mangrove swamps,
and pineland areas. Activities in the park include
hiking trails, boardwalks for nature walks, airboat rides,
and eco tours.
Alligator Farms and Airboat Rides
There are several airboat tour operators
in and near Homestead Florida and several
of them also operate alligator farms and
reptile shows.
Biscayne National Park
This United States national park is located
east of the city of Homestead and it includes
a Biscayne Bay underwater nature preserve.
More then 90% of the park is underwater and
popular activities include scuba diving,
snorkeling, kayaking, and glass bottom boat rides.
Coral Castle
This collection of coral stone formations
and structures is located north of Homestead
Florida. It was created over a 28 year
period by Latvian American eccentric Edward
Leedskalnin.
Fruit and Spice Park
This 32 acre park includes a botanical garden
featuring many types of fruit, nut, and spice
trees and plants.
Homestead Air Reserve Base
This United States air force base just
outside of Homestead Florida is the home
of the 482nd Fight Wing. it was founded in 1942
Homestead Airfield.
Homestead-Miami Speedway
An auto racing track constructed in 1993
after Hurricane Andrew destroyed much
of Homestead Florida. it hosts the final
races of the NASCAR/Nextel Cup (Ford 400), the Busch Racing
Series (Ford 300), and the Craftsman Truck Series
(Ford 200).
Homestead Rodeo Association
An organization founded to promote the sport
of rodeo and other equestrian activities in
the Homestead and Florida City area.
Monkey Jungle
Visitors to this 30 acre wildlife park wander through a
series of cages to view more then
309 species of monkeys and other primates
who run wild outside of the cages. Located
north of Homestead and West of the Village
of Cutler Bay.
Schnebly Redland's Winery
Producer of several tropical fruit wines
including Carambola, Mango, Lychee, Guava,
and Passion Fruit. Weekend winery tours that include
tasting are available for a small fee.
Speed Demons Kart Racing and Arcade
This go-kart racing facility
near the border of Homestead
and Florida City has two tracks and
a arcade game room.
Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant
This nuclear power plant is located on the shores
of Biscayne Bay just east of Homestead. It has
two nuclear power units that were built in the
early 1970's. It generates enough power to generate
electricity in nearly half a million homes.
